21 - This I Have Learned

On the surface level ,  I leaned about algebra and calculus, chemistry and physics,  p rogramming and  art design, and all sorts of stuff in between.   What I think is far more important in my time at high school is interacting with the social aspects of school life and what that entails in the future. Before entering the buil ding, I had only the  fundamental  grasp on what it is like to be responsible for yourself.  One concept I  struggle with, even to this day, is the concept of time management. I had to adapt to this idea in order to limit my stress as well as complete all the work I  have t o  do in time. I was starting to get the hang of the idea until March of last year, but nonetheless I still improved from middle school. Another aspect I had to focus  on is the concept of teamwork. I always preferred doing stuff on my own rather than working as a group, but I have been much more accustomed to the latter option....

20 - Limbo

There is a rift, a limbo that has been created along the last year. It is a quiet, feeding place where the inhabitants are  unaware of their fate. They are stuck in a statis in which they are unable to  break out of the glass case back into the normal timeline.   What energy there will usually be is replaced with a grinding stillness and lack of  opportunity . In some  cases,  one may try to scream, but it is too energetic of a reaction to the void. The most common response is  thoughtless resignation.  W hile  it is not the most malicious place that exists, it is a place where ideas are left in the dark in the search for normality.   Now, there is a way out of the void. There is a way to let yourself go of the continuous cycle of  mundane   activities  where there  is no concept of time. One must link themselves to a purpose or cause in order to pull themselves back up.  Now oyu have something t...

19 - Farmer

A farmer wakes up at the crack of glistening orange as the chickens heed their call. It was just another day  to tend to the vast tracks of maize and carrots. When he stepped  outside , however something was off. There was a blizzard overnight that eroded  away all the hard work he had done, only permafrost remaining among the ranks.  It was at this point in which the farmer took  his spade and decide to become a priest  of a new theological doctrine.   I find the concept of the absurd theatre very fascinating. It is a form of art that revels in its rejection of rational and concrete ideas in order to communicate a message  (if it has a message at all).  Often  the absurd story will feature characters doing irrational things in order to  advance  the plot. Why would the farmer commit his life into something different ? Is it a change of belief or is it something greater?  Often  there is no real reason other th...

18 - Reflection

It has only  come   to my attention  that the last quarter of my high school days are just around the corner.  Now that it is the final chapter of this period of my life, I think I can now properly assess the development and growth that I had experienced in the last 4 years.        I was quite a different person in the 9 th  grade. I just took 2 summer classes which I quite disliked and I didn’t have the best 8 th  grade year. I was still lost  despite my previous experience navigating the school in the summer classes. The most jarring thing by far was the massive  number  of students the school harbored. In elementary and midd le school, I was  familiarized  with almost  all  the students in my respective grade. In high school, however, I met many people who  attended school from all sorts of different environments. The atmosphere was much more akin to a  miniatur...

17 - Painter

Poetry, in its truest form, is a combination of words used to paint a series of  emotions in word form. It is not all too different in expressing itself when compared to visual arts.   While such words are only a series of scrawling on a physical plane, we  are able to   transcribe  meaning to them in such a way to project an entire story unto them.  The key feature used to describe such pictures is the use of imagery. Poetry is a lot less restrictive than other forms  of text-based media, as they have the ability of manipulating line spacing and the ability to incorporate rhythm.   All these combinations create the ability to transcribe text into a vivid story, a symphony of feelings and emotions that are  wafted into the reader’s senses. A great thing about poetry is that you don’t need to be skilled in visual arts to create a story or picture you want to  describe . You are able to create poetry just by injecting your feelings an...
