  In the small  period  in class when I was  analyzing  Candide, I  thought  about the qualities that lead to  the qualities of an AP student – what separates the topics between the two English classes, for instance? Personally,  I think  it  is all in the name that  indicates  the performance and manner of the student. What does AP mean, exactly? Easy, it stands for  “ artful  people” in that the students in these classes master the art of knowledge  to a degree of excellence, the students themselves knowing all about the class before the first day.   AP can also stand for “astonishingly persistent ”.  The scholars of this c lass all  can  handle everything that will come against them in pristine quality . Any true AP student  will have the ability to take at least 6 AP classes, due to the persistence described in this definition.   AP  stands for “always p erfect ”. ...

                One thing about the lens of critique is that, despite being  very different from each other in the subject that they are analyzing, they are still able to reach a conclusion on what the main lesson is and what to take away from it , which I did not think was possible in the context of the stories we analyzed   The more I think about it, however, the more it made sense to me, in that every lens is like someone interpreting it differently. A big part of human interaction is interpretation, which is something we do every day in order  to take some judgment from it. It is very much the same when it comes to literature, except you are focusing on a specific character of a story rather than  analyzing the whole.   In  A ncient Greece, one of the greatest warriors told is Achilles, a legendary character who was nigh invincible and a force of hi s own when it came to battle.  While Achilles’ story had  its  own  morals  and lessons , the main one I want to pick out is his death, in which,  despite  all his acclaim and power, he was struck down by a  lone  arrow to his heel, the one point in which he was mortal.     This character of Achilles is the most basic e xample of a character with a pivotal flaw , in which his heel was his ultimate downfall .   Character flaws are an essential vehicle of storytelling due to  such qualities being required for character development and forming conflicts in the story .   A main reason why character flaws are so interwoven in the art of storytelling is that it is such a familiar trait to have, and that writing   characters  requires this as to   somewhat make them en...
