I alwa ys thought that there was little point in needing the seemingly arbitrary breaks in lines when I read the poem, but it  greatly contributes to the tempo of the essay.     An interesting aspect of poetry is how each word can have completely different meanings to various audiences. These carefully chosen words can have different connotations tha n the physical and  accepted   definition  in other texts, meaning that poems can also carry a lot of sentimental value when you find a poem you especially  “ connect ”  with.  When  analyzing  the love poems, specifically the ones about the broken heart and symptoms of love, I did not feel very connected with the themes and tones of the poems.  This is because I interpreted it in such a fashion of romantic relationships, however I feel like the poem about the symptoms of love can somewhat apply to my life. Throughout the week, one of the most important aspects talked about in the  bildungsroman  book clubs is the concept of self-discovery.  Whether  it be in the form of a  higher   conscious  or the  acceptance  of one’s faults, a ma in aspect that these books share  together  is  that the main  character   must  go  through  a  journey  to in order to refine  oneself  in some way. Demian is not different to this, as the main  character  Sinclair takes his  quest in order to achieve a higher state of mind when he is thrust into the outside world . In the beginning of the novel, Sinclair has a black-and-white view of the world, with his household being a beacon of light in a world filled with sin. The concept of mentorship can take place in many different ways  – be it a person, a group, or an idea. A  mentor is meant to guide someone through the stages of life, as long as  they gain something from it.  I’ve  had many mentors across my life and the experiences they  left me with have built me up into the person I am today. The most obvious mentors being my parents, who raised me and thus I adopted their ideals. In school, my men tors took the form of friends that I grew up with, although this influence is certainly less beneficial of that than my parents.  As I got more interested in media, my mentors took the form of entertainment figures, but so  far,  the biggest mentors are my parents and my older brother.                  While some of these mentors are not the best influences, I still consider them mentors, as they still teach me something of value in the  form of what not to...

      This Senior year of class has certainly been interesting. Not only are we forced to adapt to a completely new medium of communication, but we have to learn  entirely  new concepts in  a radically different curriculum.  As a result, it has been difficult, as I lose interest when I am so disconnected compared to when am in a physical class, but  overall,  I think I am still learning in this Senior Year .  I think that this experience will leave a mark on the educational development of the world, in that online environments will be seen as a more viable alternative compared to traditional school, but it will heavily depend on the student.  It has also been interesting seeing how the new year affected students, as some require the social interaction of school while other thrive in the new environment.   My main challenge that I have faced in this year is that I have to get more creative in structuring my essays.
